Mar Thoma Public School is affiliated to National Youth Programme an ISO 9001 2008 certified institution was established to provide vocational skill development training with sole in of improving the the job aspirants with specific skill in private and government sector. Mar Thoma Public School Model United Nations (MTPS MUN) Club

The inaugural event of MTPS MUN was launched on 22nd January 2022. The two-day event held on 22/1/2022 and 23/1/2022 was conducted by the India International Model United Nations,Mumbai. Mr. Yogendra Kumar (Retired Ambassador) was the Chief Guest at the inaugural Ceremony. The President of the Mar Thoma Educational Society,Very Rev.Dr.C.A.Varghese and the Principal,Mrs.Vanaja Harikumar were the hosts of the event. The closing ceremony was addressed by Mr. Prashant Nagapal (Vice President of IIMUN) on 23/1/2022. Mrs. Sarah Pamela John,Director for Training and Evaluation and MTPSMUN incharges - Mrs Maria Catherine, Sunitha Cherian,Biji Jaydeep and the Social Science Department gave training to the participants. They participated in the MTPS MUN with great enthusiasm and vigor. Gift vouchers and certificates were presented to the Best delegates, High Commendation and Special Mention winners.

TINKERING / ROBOTICS LAB

Mar Thoma Public School introduces Robotics classes as part of School Tinkering Lab in collaboration with Core Champ Technologies, NewDelhi. The lab is equipped with Robotic Kits, 3D Printer, Drone, Microcontrollers, Sensors, Soldering Kit and other IoT and electronics components. Following are the details about Robotics classes for the academic year 2022-23.

  • 1. Robotics classes for the students of class 6 to 9 & 11 are provided free of cost by the school during this academic year.

  • 2. There is a registration fee of ₹ 250/- for this academic year.

  • 3. Free access to the Online Learning Management System of Core champ Technologies which includes Beginner’s Course, Develop app and Web, Hardware course, 3D Beginning Course and Advance course. All Students will get 24x7 free online access to all contents, video tutorials and activities.

  • 4. Students can Learn, program and experiment with Arduino Robotics and co-relate the same with the school curriculum.

  • 5. All classes are based on activities and practical sessions. A laptop or desktop with internet connection is required. Online practical sessions will be conducted through Tinkercad – open simulation software.

  • 6. Robotics classes will be evaluated on the basis of the submission of assignments and projects.

  • 7. One to one online mentoring support to students from School and Core Champ.

  • 8. Course certificates will be provided after completing each course.

  • 9. Robotic Kits are not mandatory. Interested students can buy the kits at discount rate from Core Champ using School Code.

    ENIKKU PATTUM: A Campaign of Mar Thoma Public School Alumni

    Enikku pattum campaign aims to give hope to all experiencing stress, anxiety and depression due to academic pressure and exams. GAME OVER is a short film based on incidents that play out between a student and his teacher.

    The following activites are conducted during the current academic year 2019-20 :

    MISSION STATEMENT
  • It was decided to continue the mission statement initiated in our School last year “The school will inculcate reading habit in students and develop in them a love for nature and help them to make their school and home environment green and clean in the coming three years” and in connection with this, the students have been allotted reading time of 10 mins every morning to read The Student Edition of Times of India and The Hindu newspapers

  • Staff meetings and Subject committee meetings are held every month.

  • Renewal cum Change-over audit for IS/ISO 9001:2015 Certification was held on June 21 and 22 by Mr . P. Mohan, Auditor and Expert from BIS.

    ACADEMIC ACTIVITIES
  • Periodic test 1 for Term 1 was conducted for classes I to VIII from July 10. Also, unit test papers were conducted for classes IX to XII

  • Periodic test 2 for Term 1 was conducted for classes I to VIII from August 16.

  • The first Midterm exam for classes XI and XII and the Pre Midterm exam for classes IX and X were conducted from June 26.

    DEVELOPMENTAL ACTIVITIES
  • As part of HPE mass drill activity for Class IX to XII was conducted

  • A team of students forming the student traffic police was formed to take care of the traffic on the school campus in the morning.

    Co-Curricular Activities

    Co-curricular activities are an important part of a student’s academic life in a school campus. The school conducts various events like "Dremes" and other programmes for all students to showcase their talents and team spirit. The students are divided into four houses
    Seva, Santhi, Santosh and Sahayog, and competitions are conducted, and Awards and trophies are presented to the best performance in each house each category.
    The Students also participate in Inter-School cultural Events like IIMUN, Horlicks Swing Kids ,Novice,Novella etc.
