FIELD TRIPS


Several enriching field trips were conducted for students across different classes. Class 6 embarked on a trip to Milma and Hill Palace in Tripunithura, where they explored the dairy production processes at Milma and delved into Kerala's rich cultural heritage at Hill Palace.

Students from Classes 7, 8, and 9 visited the Science Park at Cochin University of Science and Technology. At the Science Park, they engaged in hands-on learning experiences, interacting with various exhibits and demonstrations related to science and technology. These field trips provided students with practical exposure and interactive learning opportunities outside the classroom, enhancing their understanding and appreciation of science.

AWARENESS CLASSES


On January 13, 2024, a comprehensive session on Health, First Aid, and Safety was conducted. The session targeted students from classes 7 and 8 and was facilitated by Dr. Remya Mathew from Rajagiri Hospital. Students were enlightened about various aspects of health awareness, safety measures, and essential first aid procedures. The session aimed to equip students with practical knowledge and skills to handle emergencies effectively.

On January 24, 2024, a session on "Coping with Adolescent Changes and Challenges" was conducted. The session was aimed for the students from classes 7, 8, 9, and 11 and was facilitated by Dr. Girija from Amrita Institute of Medical Sciences. Students were guided on understanding and managing the various physical, emotional, and social changes that accompany adolescence. Practical coping strategies and techniques were discussed to help students navigate this transitional phase.The session provided valuable insights and support to students facing the challenges of adolescence.

A Career Guidance Programme was organized on January 29, 2024, for students of class 11 at an event hosted by Career Launcher. The programme aimed to provide valuable insights and direction to students regarding their future career paths. Various aspects of career planning, higher education options, and skill development were discussed during the session. Students gained valuable information and guidance to make informed decisions about their academic and professional pursuits.

KIDS FEST KINDERGALA 18/11/2023


18 th November 2023 was a day filled with fun and frolic for the tiny tots of Mar Thoma Public School, Kakkanad as they hosted the kids' Fest, *KINDERGALA '23* .It was a fun filled day for our little minions. Kindergarten teachers, welcomed the gathering followed by a prayer song by our tiny tots. Principal Dr.Sheela Seth inaugurated the event.
The highlight of Kindergala was the parental competitions, including fireless cooking and a retro fashion show which transported them back to the 70 s and 80 s.Cinematic dance performances by Pre-KG, LKG, and UKG students added colour to the show.Each competition captivated the audience, and the talent displayed by every participating student was mesmerizing.
Rev. K.G Joseph,MTES President, honored all the winners of the Kindergala program and presented gifts to all the participating parents in the prize distribution ceremony. Mrs.Jyothis David, the Kindergarten Incharge, proposed the vote of thanks.

ANNUAL SPORTS DAY 06/11/2023


On the 6th of November, Mar Thoma Public School hosted its 34 th Annual Sports Meet, a day filled with fervour and excitement experienced amidst thrills, shrills and cheers. The Chief Guest for the day was Ms.SerahJacob,National Games Medalist&Table Tennis Player. The day started off with the lovely rendition by the choir to pay salutations to the Lord Almighty followed by the Presidential address by MTES President, Rev.K.G Joseph and address by the Principal Dr.SheelaSeth.It was followed by Inter-House March Past, a highly competitive event where the four houses eyed for the first place. The audience next witnessed various displays &gymnastics symbolizing alternative sources of energy. The displays made way for the highly awaited athletic events where competitiveness among the students soared through the roof. Another highlight of the day was the Torch lighting ceremony. It was a day filled with sportsmanship, enthusiasm and memories to cherish.The Joint Secretary of MTES,Mr.PaulMathew,Vice Principal Mrs.SonySoosan Thomas ,Headmistress, Mrs.Mary k John were also present on this auspicious occasion. Boys Games Captain, Joel .V .Titty welcomed the gathering and Girls Games Captain, Bithiah Miriam Mathew proposed the vote of thanks.

MAR THEOPHILUS INTERSCHOOL ELOCUTION
COMPETITION 08/09/2023


The fifth Edition of the Mar Theophilus Elocution competition, organized by the Mar Thoma Educational Society, in loving memory of late Rt. Rev Dr Zacharias Mar Theophilus Suffragan Metropolitan, the founder patron of Mar Thoma Public School was conducted on Monday, 8 th September 2023. Students of around 34 CBSE schools from Kochi participated with vigor and enthusiasm on the topic “Emotional Intelligence: A Requisite for Peace and Harmony”. The chief guest was Rev. K G Joseph, President of the Mar Thoma Educational Society.
The ever rolling trophy, cash prizes, mementoes and certificates were given to the winners. The first prize was bagged by Celessia Saji of Toc H Public School , Vytilla, second prize to Kerin Miriam Philip of Mar Thoma Public School, Kakkanad, and third prize to Riyan Paul Mathew of Vidyodaya School, Thevakkal. Cash prizes of 10000, 7000 and 5000 were given to the respective winners.

LITERARY CLUB AND FINE ARTS COMPETITION,
MERAKI 24/07/2023


The Literary and Fine Arts Competition, MERAKI 2023, was conducted during the months June, July and August. The writing competitions were held between June 16 and July 21. The official inaugural ceremony was held on Monday, July 24 in the auditorium at 8:45 am. The main events were conducted category wise, between July 24 and August 2nd in various venues. The group events were conducted on August 3,4 and 5. All the teachers, house masters, house leaders and students worked as a team and conducted the competitions in a grand manner. The prize distribution ceremony was also held during August 7-10, for each category.

INVESTITURE CEREMONY 24/06/2023


‘True leaders don’t create followers……they create more leaders.’ The Investiture Ceremony of Mar Thoma Public School for the academic session 2023-'24 was held with great enthusiasm and dignity in the school auditorium on Wednesday,12 July 2023.
47 deserving young talents of the school were bestowed with the responsibility of leading the school ahead with their commitment, confidence and competence.Lamp lighting was done by the dignitaries. Students of Classes 9-12 attended the function. On this auspicious occasion ,President of Mar Thoma Educational Society,Rev.K.G.Joseph, Principal Dr.Sheela Seth felicitated the gathering. MTES Secretary, Mr.George Varghese was also present. Vice Principal, Mrs.SonySoosan Thomas, Headmistress,Mrs.Mary.k.John,Investiture Ceremony co-ordinators Mrs.Sunitha .A.Cherian and Mrs.Binu Thomas gave leadership for the function. Parents of council committee were also invited to witness the beautiful moment. The oath ceremony was administered by the Principal. Rev.K.GJoseph ,President of MTES, gave emphasis on inculcating the values of Prayer,Vision&Action.

VARIETY ENTERTAINMENT PROGRAMME 03.07.2023


Variety Entertainment Programme is conducted on 3.7.2023 at school auditorium. This programme is a class wise competition based on the thematic presentation by all the students of each class and division through performing different kinds of programmes at the alloted time of 15 minutes

VAYANA KALARI INAUGURATION 22.06.2023


As part of Reading Week, Mar Thoma Public School organized Vayana Kalari in association with Malayala Manorama. Mr. Sony P Skariah handed over Malayala Manorama Newspaper to the students as symbol of spreading the habit of reading. Rev. K G Joseph, President, Dr. Sheela Seth, Principal and other Board Members were present in the occassion.

INTERNATIONAL YOGA DAY CELEBRATION 21.6.2023


International Yoga Day is celebrated on 21.06.2023 at School Open Auditorium. A special assembly conducted and students shared the importance of Yoga in daily life through their speech and yoga display.

SCHOOL LIFT INAUGURATION 19.6.2023


School lift is inaugurated on 19.6.2023 by Rev. K G Joseph, President of Mar Thoma Educational Society. School lift has the access to all the four floors.

WORLD ENVIRONMENT DAY 5.6.2023


A special assembly conducted by class 12A children on World Environment Day. Principal planted a sapling and inspired all children to plant a tree to save the Mother Earth.

PRAVESHNOLSAV 2023-'24 - 1.06.2023


School reopened on 1.6.2023. Newly appointed principal and newly appointed President of MTES were given official welcome. Children gathered in school auditorium for special assembly. President and Principal addressed the students and welcomed them for the new academic year 2023-'24
